They are most commonly found on deciduous trees such as oaks and beeches. Reishi is now very rare in the wild, but because it is a highly sought-after mushroom, it is also cultivated commercially on a large scale. The cultivation and artificial propagation of the mushroom dates back to around 1970. For such cultivation, it is necessary to find a suitable substrate to ensure the mushroom retains its composition and remains a source of biologically active substances that help our body. This has been achieved, so even artificially grown mushrooms are a full-fledged substitute for those grown in the wild.
