MycoMedica Organic Young Barley
BIO Young Barley
200 g
Our BIO YOUNG BARLEY is cultivated in an ecologically pristine valley in the Austrian Alps. The untouched landscape, sufficient moisture, and mineral-rich soil ensure optimal conditions for growing high-quality raw material.
Basic Information
Barley (Hordeum vulgare) is one of the most widely cultivated cereals. Young barley is harvested when it reaches a height of 15-20 cm above the ground. At this stage, the plant accumulates the most nutrients in a form that is easily absorbed by the body.
Our BIO YOUNG BARLEY is a natural source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins, and the green pigment chlorophyll. It contains B vitamins, vitamin C, E, K, H, choline, fiber, amino acids, and beta-carotene. The lesser-known choline is a fundamental building block of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. A neurotransmitter is a substance that mediates nerve-muscle signal transmission in the brain, making it crucial for the proper functioning of the nervous system. It is rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, copper, iron, phosphorus, and magnesium.
It also contains 20 amino acids, including eight essential ones that our body cannot produce on its own. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are therefore essential for cell formation, tissue repair, and energy supply.
The contained chlorophyll supports the production of red blood cells, thus ensuring optimal oxygenation and nutrition of cells. This improves cell metabolism in the body, and thus overall physical and mental condition.
The substances contained in green barley, including fiber, can bind waste products generated during metabolism and aid in better digestion.
Green barley is highly alkalizing, maintaining the pH balance in the body, which can affect the occurrence of many lifestyle diseases.

Dosage
Adults 1.5 - 3 g daily, mix in approximately 1.5 dcl of water and drink. Children from 3 years old half a teaspoon, mix in approximately 1.5 dcl of water and drink. We recommend taking it at least half an hour before or after a meal.
(1 level teaspoon = 1 g of powder)
An alternative to classic consumption, where barley is thoroughly mixed only in water, is to add the powder to fruit or vegetable juices. Adding it to yogurt, smoothies, or the increasingly popular smoothie bowls is also an interesting option. However, this variant is recommended if you have trouble consuming barley on an empty stomach, mixed only in water. An example of use for beginners is described in the table below, where the dose is slowly increased each day to allow the body to adapt. Once the maximum daily dose is reached, it can be taken long-term.
